MARY LOU BARRETT

Mary Lou Barrett, 77, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. She was born on Jan. 14, 1928 in Callaway County, the daughter of Daniel and Ethel Jennings Turner. She was married on Dec. 14, 1957 in Jefferson City to Lawrence Bell Barrett who survives at the home. A graduate of Lincoln Lab School, Mrs. Barrett was employed for twenty-two years with the Missouri House of Representatives until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Second Baptist Church; Church Women United; and Tony Jenkins Post 231, American Legion Auxiliary. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah L. and Nathan Williams, Jefferson City; one son, Larry W. Barrett, Jefferson City; three granddaughters, Sunsaria L. Ghoreyan and Whitney N. Williams, both of Jefferson City; and Zayla N. Dearixon, St. Louis; one sister, Bertha Blunt and her husband, Joseph Blunt Jr.; two brothers, Robert Turner and his wife, Dorothy, of Jefferson City; and William Turner, Jefferson City; one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Turner, Jefferson City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Jane Hawkins; and one brother, Nolan Turner. Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Cornell C. Sudduth officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11-12 noon Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Dialysis Clinic East, 1916 Boggs Creek, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
