MARY CATHERINE OTTO

Mary Catherine Otto, 73, of Westphalia, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born on December 20, 1936, in Taos, the daughter of the late Joseph Bernard and Johanna Jennie Anna Toebben Schaefer. She was united in marriage on May 10, 1958, in Taos, to Harry Anton Otto who survives at the home. A homemaker all her life, Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and Friendship Club. Mary enjoyed needle work, crocheting, quilting, collecting angels, and most especially spending time with her family.
Other survivors include: five children, Ronald Otto; Shirley Otto; Carolyn Otto; Sharon Otto, all of Jefferson City; Brenda (Ed) Stewart, New Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Shawn Otto, Shaylyn Otto, Sarah Stewart, Elizabeth Stewart, Rachel Stewart; three siblings, Walter (Ruth) Schaefer, Taos; Norbert (Janet) Schaefer, Osage City; Joan (Oscar) Branson, Taos; and one half-sister, Dorothy Richter. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Otto. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Mark S. Smith, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic church, P.O.
