MARTINA EMMA HOLTERMAN

April 12, 1916 — February 13, 2008

Martina Emma Holterman, 91, of Westphalia, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at her daughters residence in Columbia. She was born on April 12, 1916, in Westphalia, MO, the daughter of Henry and Mary Anna Buersmeyer Schauwecker. Mrs. Holterman graduated from Westphalia High School in 1933. She was married on June 14, 1952 in Westphalia to William Frank Holterman who died on July 24, 1984. Mrs. Holterman was the executive secretary for the president of the Missouri Power and Light Company. After her marriage, she was co-owner and operator of Holterman Sales and Service Company. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; the American Legion Auxiliary; Beta Sigma Phi; and Town and Country Club. Martina was a grand and spirited lady. She shared many travels with her husband, Bill. They loved to dance and to entertain family and friends at their home and at their cabin on the Maries. Poker games were on a regular agenda with good neighbors and friends. Many wonderful memories were made on lifes path. Martina cherished family above all else and is survived by one daughter, Maribeth Chilton, Columbia; one grandson, Jordan Richardson, Columbia; three great-grandsons, Brayden Scott Matheney, twins, Donovan Thomas Richardson and Domenic Umberto Richardson; one sister, Christine Persell, Arcadia, CA; one sister-in-law, Pauline Schauwecker, Westphalia; five nieces, Rosemary Schoenen, Kansas City, MO; Alice Mae Mueller, Decatur, IL; Evelyn Wekenborg, Salisbury, MO; Genie Kremer, Cape Girardeau, MO; and Judy Ashfield, Kimberling, City, MO; four nephews, Harry Schauwecker, Carbondale, IL; Charlie Schauwecker, Columbia, MO; Corkie Walter Schauwecker, Holden, MO; and David Persell, Duarte, CA; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Alois Schauwecker, Stephen Schauwecker, Anton Schauwecker, Alphonse Schauwecker, Zeno Schauwecker, and Herbert Schauwecker; and three sisters, Pauline Wegman, Henrietta Schauwecker, and Rosa Schauwecker. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Philip M. Kane and Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
