MARIE JOHANNA WEKENBORG

February 13, 1917 — April 29, 2012

Marie Johanna Wekenborg, 95, of Taos, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born on February 13, 1917, in Taos, the daughter of the late Henry G. and Rosie Brand Lauf.
She was united in marriage on August 16, 1938, in Taos, to Eugene A. Wekenborg who preceded her in death on October 4, 1978.
A homemaker all her life, Marie also worked at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School lunch program.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, quilters group at the church, and enjoyed cutting grass on her John Deere mower.
Survivors include: one son, Richard (Susie) Wekenborg, Taos; one daughter, Frances Wekenborg, Taos; two grandchildren, Chris Wekenborg; Alan (Jennifer) Wekenborg; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Wekenborg, Mazie Wekenborg, and Elijah Wekenborg.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence and Alfred Hagner; and Mildred and Herbert Forck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne M. Boyer, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Capital Improvements Fund, 7319 Route M, Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to a charity of the donors choice.
