MARIE AGNES POETKER

Marie Agnes Poetker, 92, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 25, 1913, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Mathies Matthews and Anna Marie Hadwick Yanskey. She was married on Nov. 26, 1935 in Jefferson City to Anthony H. Tony Poetker who died on Sept. 20, 1961. A homemaker, Mrs. Poetker was employed with the Drivers License Division of the Missouri Department of Revenue before retiring in 1973. In earlier years she performed housekeeping services. She was a member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph; St. Anns Sodality; Harmony Extension Club; St. Joseph Womens Association; and St. Joseph Prayer Group. Survivors include one son, Melvin F. Poetker, Jefferson City, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anton Yanskey and Otto Yanskey; and two sisters, Angeline Poetker and Emma Yanskey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Jeremy A. Secrist officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Cathedral Foundation, 2305 W.
