MARGARETT MAXINE MILLER

November 20, 1922 — December 15, 2010

Margarett Maxine Miller, 88, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, surrounded by her children at the home of her daughter who cared for her.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1922, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of the late Everett Wesley and Olive Martha Brumley Appling. She was married on Jan. 19, 1957, in Miami, Okla., to Orval Roger Mike Miller, Sr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2009. A 1941 graduate of Eldon High School, Mrs. Miller was employed for seventeen years as an operator line supervisor with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1990 as Communications Coordinator with the Missouri Department of Corrections where she had been employed for twenty years.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Eldon; Victoria Chapter No. 14, Order of Eastern Star; and an honorary member of New Bloomfield Chapter, No. 138, Order of Eastern Star. She spent much of her time watching the birds and small woodland animals in her back yard. In her later years, she developed a love for bird and angel figurines.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene W. Miller and his wife, Dean, Olean, Mo.; and Orval Roger Miller, Jr., and his fiance, Leah Lobsiger, Austin, Texas; one daughter, Michelle M. Gerstner and her husband, Steve, of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Debbie Crisler, Christopher Gerstner, Daniel Gerstner, Taylor Gerstner, Maria Miller, Caden Miller, Michael McDaniel, David McDaniel, and Amanda McDaniel; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael D. McDaniel.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21st, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home where an Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Capital Area Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
