MACARTHUR M.L. WOODRUFF

MacArthur M.L. Woodruff, 69, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on February 26, 1942, in Twist Ark., the son of the late Tommy and Mary Couch Woodruff.
He was united in marriage on March 9, 1963, in Fulton, Mo., to Sherrelyn Ruth Seibert who survives.
He received his Masters degree from Lincoln University in Sociology/Criminal Justice.
MacArthur served in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam Conflict and served with the Missouri National Guard for 23 years.
Mr. Woodruff began his career at Fulton State Hospital as a nursing assistant. He later worked for Lincoln University as Director of Safety and Security. He primarily worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections where he served as a corrections officer, teacher, Functional Unit Manager, and retired as Superintendent II.
Mr. Woodruff was a former member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church and a current member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Tipton. He was a member of the Capital City Lodge No. 9. He served as a Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the Jefferson City Police Board.
He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Other survivors include: his children, David (Holly) Woodruff, Jefferson City; Devon (Ashley) Woodruff, Jefferson City; Daryl (Courtney) Woodruff, Long Beach, Ca.; Kimberly Woodruff (Heather Whiteside), Kansas City; Kathlene Woodruff, Jefferson City; Alison Woodruff, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren, Rhiannon, Anthony, Marcus, Joshua, Isaiah, Jaedyn, Isabel, Eleanor, Noah, Abbigail; five siblings, Peter (Jean) Woodruff, Las Vegas, NV; Benjamin Blair, Moorhead, Minn.; Aaron Woodruff, Blytheville, Ark.; Zula Lofton, Chicago; Georgia Blair, Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Nona Blackman; and five brothers, David Woodruff, T.W. Woodruff, Walter Woodruff, James Woodruff, and Archie Brown.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2011, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Foster officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.
