MABEL JOHANNA WILBERS

Mabel Johanna Wilbers, 78, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on March 3, 1926, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Leo Herman and Emma Katherine Schneiders Rackers. She was married on May 20, 1948, in Jefferson City to Clarence Herman Wilbers who survives at the home. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Morris and Jeannie Wilbers, Gladstone, MO; and Jerry and Ruth Wilbers, Jefferson City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Valda and Ed Stroesser, Jefferson City; Elaine and John Bryan, Jefferson City; and Carol and Chad Jones, Lees Summit, MO; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Clete Rackers, Jefferson City; two sisters, Blanche Herx, Lees Summit, MO; and Joanne Eiken, Centertown; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Marcellus Wilbers; one brother, Art Rackers; and one sister, Agnes Raithel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. Previous employment included Franks Clothing Store and McHenrys Clothing Store. For many years she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm east of Jefferson City. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister; St. Ann Sodality; and participated in the Perpetual Adoration program at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville. Mrs. Wilbers enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, cooking, and gardening; she especially enjoyed being a mom and grandma.
