MABEL JOHANNA BERNSKOETTER

January 1, 1913 — February 13, 2005

Mabel Johanna Bernskoetter, 92, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, Feb 13, 2005, at her residence. She was born on Jan. 1, 1913 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Ben G. and Lena Wilbers Prenger. She was married on Oct. 18, 1932 in Wardsville to William Frank Bernskoetter who died on May 16, 1999. She attended the Moreau Bend School and Immaculate Conception Catholic School. A homemaker, Mrs. Bernskoetter was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anns Sodality; and St. Anns Quilting Circle. She loved gardening, baking bread, and quilting. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ann Reinkemeyer, Jefferson City; and Norma J. and Charles Bexten, Jefferson City; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles B. and Millie Bernskoetter, Jefferson City; and Harold R. Harry and Cathy Bernskoetter, Taos; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Cletus and Delores Pringer, Jefferson City; and Eugene and Geraldine Pringer, Jefferson City; one sister, Evelyn Bode, Osage Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Prenger and Pearl Prenger, both of Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Bernskoetter; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Marie Bernskoetter, Sammy Bernskoetter, and Melanie Rose Daugherty; a son-in-law, Lloyd Reinkemeyer; a sister, Ludvina Rackers; and five brothers, Oscar Prenger, David Prenger, Ray Prenger, Monroe Prenger, and Walter Pringer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 15th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Endowment Fund, 1206 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; Masses; or a charity of the donors choice.
