Lois Madondo, 61, of Jefferson City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 14, 1955, in Zimbabwe, the daughter of the late James (Masasi) Chikara and survived by her mother Catherine Chikara of Zimbabwe. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. She was united in marriage on July 12, 1976, in Zimbabwe, to Rev. Aaron S. Madondo who survives at the home. Lois worked for Scholastic Inc. and Exchange Bank in Jefferson City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City. Her greatest love was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver to all she knew. She opened her home and her heart to everyone. She also enjoyed,cooking, gardening,traveling with her husbandand most important spending time with family. Lois will be remembered by those wholoved her dearly including, her husband, Rev. Aaron Madondo, Jefferson City; three children, Praise Madondo, Jefferson City; Tapiwa Ferries (Fatima) Madondo, Holts Summit; Pamela (Enock) Chipewo, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, Jordan Bruner, Kyra Madondo, Olivia Chipewo, Savannah Bruner, Henry Chipewo, Christina Chari, Emmanuel Chari, Tanzi Maradzika; three siblings, Lydia Maradzika, Meriam Chikara, and James Hama (Irene) Chikara; nephews Partson (Marie) Maradzika, Peter (Anastansia) Chari, Simbarashe Madondo, Tashongedzwa Madondo and a host of family and friends abroad. She was preceded in death by her brother Gift Chikara; sisters, Judith Dhaure, and Constance Mlambo. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Daniel Hilty and other clergy officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Lois Madondo family to be used to benefit her grandchildren. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
