Leonard Joseph Wieberg, 91, of Westphalia, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Golden Living Center. He was born September 24, 1924, in Argyle, Missouri the son of the late August and Hilda (Eichholz) Wieberg, Sr. He attended the Wilds school in Maries County. Leonard served his country during World War II in France and Germany from 1944-1946 with the United States Army. He was united in marriage on November 11, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia to Rosemary Peitzmeyer who survives. Leonard worked for International Shoe Factory after he was honorably discharged from the Army. He then worked as a gas truck driver, milk truck driver, mechanic, and following his retirement helped with various maintenance jobs at the Westphalia Lions Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Westphalia Knights of Columbus, the Westphalia Lions Club, the Westphalia American Legion, and was a former member of the Westphalia Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time, Leonard enjoyed fishing and playing cards. In addition to his wife, Rosemary, he is survived by five children: Richard Wieberg, Jefferson City; David (Mary) Wieberg, Westphalia; Dale "Pete" (Janice) Wieberg, Westphalia; Sharon (Jim) Odom, Linn; Mary (Jim) Mealer, Westphalia; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Vic (Martha) Wieberg, Jefferson City; Clarence "Doc" (Jeanette) Wieberg, Dodge, Neb.; Gus Wieberg, Holts Summit; Agnes Brenneke, Jefferson City; Margaret Brenneke, Jefferson City; a sister-in-law, Agatha Peitzmeyer, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Dalton Kempker; one sister, Ann Lape; and a brother, Gilbert Wieberg. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
