Lela Mae Estes, 85, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Heisinger Bluffs.
She was born May 12, 1929, in Coffeyville, Kansas, the daughter of the late Lether Ball and Vera (Adams) James.
She was a 1946 graduate of Coffeyville Kansas High School.
Lela was united in marriage on September 2, 1951, in Coffeyville, KS to Robert Dean Estes who preceded her in death on May 5, 1997.
A homemaker all her life, she was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. For many years Lela taught Children's Church at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing dresses, hats, and other clothing items for various good will projects.
Survivors include: one sister, Mary James, of Salt Lake City, Utah; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends including her Cornerstone Baptist Church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers and sister.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Brian K. Credille officiating.
Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Robbins Cemetery in Coffeyville, KS.
