LUCY ANN HUDSPETH

March 23, 1933 — April 12, 2005

Lucy Ann Hudspeth, 72, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center after a battle with cancer. Even while struggling through her illness, she remained unselfish in nature, always putting others first. She was born on March 23, 1933 in Taos, MO, the daughter of Leo and Eleonora Rackers Bernskoetter. She was married on Jan. 20, 1968 in Taos to Dale Luverne Hudspeth who died on Jan. 14, 1994. Mrs. Hudspeth received her education at St. Francis Xavier School in Taos. She was a licensed In-home Day Care Provider for thirty years until retiring in 2000. She was not only a loving mother and grandmother to her own children and grandchildren, but to the numerous day care children she nurtured and influenced over the years. Many of them remain close today. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir, participated in the prayer line, and was a Eucharistic Minister. Her dedication to the church is truly an example for all. She was a member of the Madonna Chapter of the Immaculata Club; St. Anns Sodality; St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary; Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary; and an active volunteer with the Samaritan Center. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Carol Hudspeth, Loose Creek; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rodney Distler, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Zachary Hudspeth; Kyle Hudspeth; Trent Distler; Luke Distler; and Drew Distler; two brothers and their wives, Wilfrid and Betty Jean Bernskoetter, Jefferson City; and Don and Georgene Bernskoetter, Jefferson City; and a brother-in-law, Robert Kempker, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorine Kempker. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
