LUCILLE JULIA MEISTER

July 27, 1918 — October 21, 2010

Lucille Julia Meister, 92, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Oak Tree Villas.
She was born on July 27, 1918, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Herman Henry and Kathryn B. Schulte Heimericks. She was married on Nov. 25, 1937, in Jefferson City, to Cletus Adam Meister who died on Oct. 6, 1991. Receiving her education at St. Peter Catholic School, Mrs. Meister was employed through the years with Hermans Department Store, Missouri Division of Employment Security, and Town & Country Flowers. Together with her husband, she managed St. Peters bowling alley for five years and was an active bowler for over thirty years. She was a past president of Charles E. Still Hospital Guild where she also performed volunteer work. She was a charter member of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph where she was a member of the Home and School Association and a room mother. She and Clete were one of many families that assisted with the Irish nuns who taught at the Cathedral school.
Lucille maintained a close relationship with Sister Teresa, a former first grade teacher, who eventually returned to Ireland. Lucille especially enjoyed traveling with family or with a bus tour. She made friends with many with whom she traveled, and continued communication with them. She appreciated being able to see forty-eight state capitols and visiting all of the Canadian provinces. In September, 2009, Lucille was named the most seasoned Heimericks at the First Annual Heimericks Reunion.
Survivors include one son, Bruce S. (Carol) Meister; one grandson, Steven A. Meister, and his girl friend, Julie Link; and one great-grandson whom she loved very much, Adam Lee Meister, all of Jefferson City; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Virgil Gemeinhardt, Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Raymond Heimericks; and one sister, Lillian Henricks.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
