LORINE JOSEPHINE KEMPKER

June 15, 1938 — January 31, 2007

Lorine Josephine Kempker, 68, of Taos, MO, passed away of a sudden illness on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on June 15, 1938, in Taos, the daughter of Anton Bernard and Hilda Margaret Toebben Lage. She was married on Oct. 12, 1957, in Taos to Anthony C. Tony Kempker who died on July 5, 2005. Mrs. Kempker was employed with Kress Dime Store; Obermans Clothing Factory; International Shoe Co.; Scholastic, Inc.; and as co-owner and bookkeeper of Kempker Trucking Co. for thirty-five years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, and loved the family farm. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Allen and Karen Kempker, and Harvey and Amy Kempker, both of Taos; four daughters and their husbands, Karen and Dave Berendzen, Marys Home; Tammy Lootens, Taos; Joyce and Norman Smead, Tebbetts; and Shirley and Brad Stout, Centertown; fifteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Joyce Lage, Taos; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Floyd Jack Kempker, Taos; and Dorothy and Alfred Chuck Wittkop, Taos; and her mother-in-law, Agnes Hake Kempker, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Herman Kempker, Sr.; son-in-law, Roger Werderhausen; and sister-in-law, Barbara Kempker. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2nd, at St. Francis of Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Church Building Fund, 7319 Route M, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
