LILLIE MAE ELIZER

Lillie Mae Elizer, 95, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born on April 25, 1913, in Charlotte, N.C., the daughter of the late Ernest Stokes, Sr. and Pearl Elizabeth Cates Armstrong. She was married on Dec. 23, 1938, in Fort Mill, S.C., to Lee Hogan Elizer, Sr., who died on May 2, 1992. Mrs. Elizer was a graduate of Fort Mill High School and attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. She served as Executive Secretary for many years of the Duke Power Company in Charlotte, N.C., and with the Hoerner Box Company in Keokuk, Iowa, until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Keokuk, Iowa; Elmira Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Keokuk; and was a charter member in 1948 of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Charlotte, N.C. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Richard Parsons, Jefferson City, Mo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Lee H., Jr. and Jeanne Elizer, Erie, Colo.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan and Krissi Parsons and Beverly McBrian, all of St. Louis, Mo.; Christopher and Genomar Elizer, Bella Vista, Ark.; and Susanne Elizer and Alvin Littles, Seattle, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Natalia Elizer and Andrew Elizer, both of Bella Vista, Ark. She was preceded in death by an infant sister; and two brothers, Ernest Armstrong and Clarence Armstrong. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Christine Dumas officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Gardens, in Charlotte, N.C. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church, 2330 Plank Road, Keokuk, IA 52632.
