LEON EUGENE PRENGER

Leon Eugene Prenger, 70, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1938, in Jefferson City the son of Hubert Henry and Clara Gertrude Schepers Prenger. He was united in marriage on September 14, 1957, in Taos, MO, to Delphine Del Eleanora Rackers who survives at the home. In his early years, Mr. Prenger owned and operated Prengers Garage with his father. Over the years, he worked for the local Ford and Lincoln dealership. He retired from the State of Missouri after thirteen years of employment. Leon was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting, woodworking, mechanical repairs, and nature. Leon was a jack of all trades; helping people in whatever way he could. Other survivors include: three sons and three daughters-in-law, Randall and Diane Prenger, Jefferson City; Kevin and Jeanette Prenger, Kansas City, MO; Scott and Leslie Prenger, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Darren; Joseph; Amanda; Katlyn; Gwendolyn; Alexandria; four sisters and their spouses, Rosella and Wil Dinklemann, Lees Summit; Albertine and Tom McGurk, Leawood, KS; Carolyn and Steve Golden, Imperial, MO; Judy Mankin, Jefferson City; and three brothers and their wives, Ronald and Ann Prenger; Dennis and Sandy Prenger; and Mike and Jan Prenger, all of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109; Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
