LEO HENRY SUTHOFF

Leo Henry Suthoff, 92, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Oak Tree Villas. He was born on September 26, 1916, in St. Thomas, the son of John and Agnes Wankum Suthoff. He was united in marriage on September 9, 1956, in St. Louis to Betty Jean Strickland Suthoff. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2001. He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran serving during World War II. Leo owned and operated Leos Service Station in St. Louis from 1949-1985. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, life member of the VFW Roy Sone 1003, and Lions Club in St. Louis. Survivors include: one son and his companion, John Suthoff and Patricia Noll, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Jaimee Suthoff; Ashton and her husband Shawn Riegel; Lacey Suthoff and her fianc TJ Hartman; and one brother and his wife, Joseph and Grace Suthoff, St. Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters, Catherine Hoelscher; Anna Strope; Hedwig Luebbering; and two brothers, Bernard Suthoff; and Andrew Suthoff. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Clarence E. Wiederholt officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the church. Burial will be Monday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
