LAWRENCE ANTON PRENGER

December 21, 1917 — June 10, 2010

Lawrence Anton Prenger, 92, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 21, 1917, in Lohman, Mo, the son of the late Gerhardt Edward and Anna Marie Lauf Prenger. He was united in marriage on October 14, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Mardelle Louise Burbach who resides at the home. A farmer all his life, Lawrence was also an auctioneer owning and operating the Lawrence Prenger Auction Services until retiring at age 85 in 2002. He was a graduate of the Reisch Auction School in Mason City, Iowa in 1947. Lawrence was proud of his farm, his cattle, and his silos. Even after he was unable to continue to farm due to ill health, Lawrence would sit on his back porch and watch his two sons and grandchildren tend to the farm. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Lawrence was a supporter of Hospice of Central Missouri. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.
Other survivors include: two sons, Daniel (Diane) Prenger, Taos; Allan (Phyllis) Prenger, Taos; four grandchildren, Wesley Prenger, Caleb Prenger, Emily Prenger, Eric Prenger; and two special friends, Harold Clark and Mary Jane Quinn. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Prenger; and a brother, Oscar Bud Prenger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Taos, Mo. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe St. Suite 100, Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
