Jurllean Martin

July 2, 1949 — May 13, 2013

Jurllean Martin, affectionately called "Jerri", left this world for her everlasting home in glory on Monday morning, May 13, 2013, while at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on July 2, 1949, in Pascola, Missouri to James and Victoria Martin. She attended Central School System in Hayti, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1968. After graduation she moved to Jefferson City and enrolled in the Jefferson City Public School of Nursing. She completed nursing school in 1970 and started her career at Charles Still Osteopathic Hospital (Capital Region Medical Center) where she retired after over 30 years of service. Jurllean accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Jefferson City, she became a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served in many capacities to include a church steward. Later in life she moved her membership to Lively Stone International Church of God where she served as one of the mothers of the church and was pursing leadership training for ministry. Jurllean was a kind, gentle, loving person who loved to help people. She considered herself a chatterbox and loved to shop. She was an avid collector of bears, beanie babies, and loved the color pink. She was usually happy, smiling, and slow to complain. She counted her blessings each and every day. Jurllean will be lovingly remembered by three sisters, Althalean Billups, Lenora Spicer (Jay Travis), Lucille Deans; one brother, James Martin; one uncle, Jerrell White; a special niece, Kristie Billups; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Home Going Service will be 12 Noon Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Lively Stone International Church of God, 400 Ridgeway Dr., Jefferson City with Pastor Joseph Hardin officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be 11a.m. till 12 Noon Saturday at the church. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
