Julius Bernard Forck

Julius Bernard Forck, 89, of Taos, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born April 11, 1925, in Taos, the son of the late Emil and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Wolters) Forck. Julius served his country during World War II with the United States Army in the Philippine Theater. He was united in marriage on April 23, 1949, in Taos, to Rita Anna Taube who survives at the home. Julius began working as a dairy farmer followed by working as a bricklayer from 1956 to 2000. He owned and operated Julius Forck Bricklaying and Forck Cleaning Services. Julius also had worked for Vieth School Bus Services as a driver. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Holy Name Society member, and was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member. In 2001 he was recognized for rendering great assistance in translating German for the Museum of Missouri Military History. Julius enjoyed playing horseshoes and pinochle. Survivors include his wife Rita of 65 years; eight children, Fred (Deborah) Forck, Jefferson City; Stephen (Mary Jane) Forck, Taos; Isadore "Izzy" (Deborah) Forck, Taos; Christopher (Margaret) Forck, Taos; Leona (Troy) Duren, Taos; Melinda (Tim) Fennessey, Wardsville; Harold (Rhonda) Forck, Taos; Kevin Forck, Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Shannon Forck; one brother, Urban Forck; and one sister, Marie Wilbers. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne M. Boyer officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:15 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
