Juliana Bernadine Martin

Juliana Bernadine Martin, 79, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Westphalia Retirement Center. She was born on February 4, 1924 in Westphalia, the daughter of Bernard Tappel and Cecilia Marie Doerhoff Tappel. She was married on February 16, 1946 in Jefferson City to Ray Martin who died on April 29, 1980. Survivors include five sons and their wives, Wayne and Janet Martin, Kansas City; David and Delores Martin, Jefferson City; Ronald F. Martin and his fiance, Judy Law, both of Jefferson City; John B. Martin, Smithville; and Joseph G. Martin and his friend, Kathy Hake, both of Jefferson City; seven daughters and their husbands, Diane and William Stroessner, Jefferson City; Mary and Mark Schaefer, Linn; Ruth and Leonard Wansing, Vienna; Gloria and Richard Beitler, Springfield; Arlene G. Martin, Kansas City; Sheila and Mark Lenson, Overland Park, Kansas; and Celeste and Alvin Keilholz, Jefferson City; twenty-five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Hagenhoff, Rolla; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Henry Tappel and James Tappel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation, P.O. A homemaker, she was employed in later years as a cook with East End Daycare Center.
