Joseph William Taube

Joseph William "Joe" Taube, 86, of Wardsville, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015, at his home with the loving care of his family. He was born December 10, 1929, in Taos, a son of John and Mary (Schnieders) Taube. He was united in marriage on February 1, 1951, to Mildred Annie (Raab) who survives at the home. Joe was a lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area. He worked for many companies including Tweedie's Shoe Factory, Schanzmeyer Ford, Delong's Inc., Great Central Lumber, and Missouri Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1992. Joe was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville. He enjoyed fishing, working on engines of all sizes, restoring clocks, especially coo-coo clocks, and tinkering around in the garage. If there wasn't a tool made for the job, Joe would fabricate one. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends. His survivors include: his wife, Mildred, of 64 years; his daughter Linda (Taube) Luebbering and her husband Gary of St. Thomas, MO; two sons, Joseph "Joe" A. Taube (John Walker) of Jefferson City, and Darrell J. Taube and his wife Rebecca "Becky" (Benne) of Lohman, MO; six grandchildren, Cassidy and wife Gina Luebbering, Chad Luebbering, Cody and wife Terra Luebbering, Tabatha Taube and her fiance' Darin Crocker, Candice Taube and her fiance' Christopher Wadley, and Kaitlin Taube; nine great-grandchildren, Chase, Grace and Jude Luebbering, Payton Taube, Jaelynn Hile, Colten Koenigsfeld, Liam Crocker, Kalon Wadley, and Kinsley Crocker; one brother, Anthony "Tony" Taube and his wife Virginia (Herman); and two sisters, Rita (Taube) Forck and Mary (Taube) Riegel. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin daughter Judy Taube; a granddaughter Millie Marie Luebbering; four sisters, Barbara Rackers and her husband Joseph "Joe"; Agatha "Aggie" Rustemeyer and her husband Theodore "Ted"; Theresa Wolken and her husband Gabriel "Gabe"; Helen Berhorst and her husband James "Jim"; four brothers, August, Otto, Liberatus "Buddy" and Leo Taube; a half-sister, Katherine "Kate" Verslues and her husband Frank; and a half-brother Frank and his wife Lavinia (Eichholz) Taube. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, at the Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2015, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Joe's granddaughter Millie.
