Joseph L. Roach

February 11, 1909 — August 2, 2002

He was born in Linn Creek, to William Irevin Roach and Jessie Creach Roach. He was married on August 31, 1941 in Eldon to Lucille Brackett who died on March 17, 1987. He was married on September 2, 1989 in Jefferson City to Sharon Celeste Fisher Baughman who survives at the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Susan Ann Stevens, Jefferson City; two step-daughters, Sherrie L. Willis, Quincy, Illinois; and Claudine C. Miller, Holts Summit; two step-sons, Bryan C. Baughman, Jefferson City; and Sherman E. Baughman, Holts Summit; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson and two sisters, Maxine Corrigan, Portland, Oregon; and Louise Laurie, Kansas City. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church; Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; Roscoe Enroe American Legion Post 5; fifty-year member of Jefferson Lodge No. 43, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons; a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club; and past chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Missouri National Guard Credit Union. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Baptist Church, 1120 Madison Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was employed with the Missouri Highway Department for thirteen years; worked on the Panama Canal for eight months; and retired in 1971 as Captain with the Missouri National Guard where he had been employed for 25 years.
