Joseph Herman Schwartze

August 10, 1907 — February 15, 2002

He was born in Westphalia to Bernard F. and Clara Mary Plassmeyer Schwartze. He was married on October 21, 1947 in Loose Creek to Evelyn Christine Stiefermann who survives at the home. He was employed as a researcher with Maries Valley Hatchery from 1945 to 1966; and in assembly work with Play-Mor Trailers, Inc. from 1966 to 1983. Other survivors include a brother, Emil H. Schwartz, Westphalia, Mo. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; Holy Name Sodality; Westphalia American Legion Post 544; and Westphalia Historical Society. Memorials are suggessted to St. Joseph Catholic School, Westphalia; St. Marys Health Center Oncology Department: or Capital Region Medical Center Oncology Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving four years in the South Pacific.
