John Wesley Gibbs

Mr. John Wesley Gibbs departed his life on March 31, 2022, in the comfort of his home, with his partner Carolyn Pelc of Jefferson City, Missouri by his side.

Mr. Gibbs was born December 27, 1934, to Ethel Martin and Percy Gibbs both of whom preceded him in death, as well as his five brothers and one grandson.

Mr. Gibbs leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: daughter’s, Robin Gibbs, and Carolyn (Freddie) Bobo of Cahokia, IL; Lajoy Porter of Jefferson City; one son, Nicholas Porter of Jefferson City; his Partner Carolyn Pelc of Jefferson City, MO; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Mr. Gibbs retired from MoDOT in Jefferson City.

Mr. Gibbs will have a private family cremation service on April 9, 2022.

He will have a celebration of life at a later date.
