John Peter Heckman

October 17, 1922 — November 9, 2015

John Peter Heckman, 93, of Folk, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at Westphalia Hills. He was born on October 17, 1922, in Folk, Missouri, the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Massman) Heckman. John lived his entire life on the family farm which became a Century Farm in 2007. He was united in marriage on February 27, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, Missouri to Mary Lou Luebbert who survives. John was a farmer all of his life which included raising Black Angus cattle and Feeder Pigs. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He served on the Board of Osage County Livestock Producers from 1957 till the 1970's. He also served on the Board for the Telo Auction MFA Association for 20 years. John liked to trap, hunt, and fish in his spare time. He also loved taking his grandchildren with him everywhere. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Heckman of 69 years; five children, Allan (Janice) Heckman, Folk; Linda Schulte, Jefferson City; Leon (Jane) Heckman, Folk; Randy (Darla) Heckman, Folk; Geralyn (Kenneth) Luebbert, Jefferson City; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cecelia Kempker, Wardsville; and a sister-in-law, Marie Heckman, Westphalia. He was preceded in death by his parents; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Zimmer and Cohen Isenberg; a son-in-law, Richard Schulte; two sisters, Martha Baumhoer and Christine Reinsch; and five brothers, Leo Heckman, Herman Heckman, William Heckman, Edwin Heckman, and Leonard Heckman. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk with the Rev. Anthony Viviano officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
