John David Kauffman

John David Kauffman, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, November 08, 2016, at St. Joseph Bluffs. He was born December 19, 1933, in Jefferson City, the son of the late David Seraphim and Anna Marie (Vieth) Kauffman. He served in the United States Navy from 1956-1957. John received his Electrical Certificate from Linn Technical College in 1968. He was united in marriage on May 22, 1965, in Mary's Home to Eunice Catherine Bungart who survives. John worked for Dr. Pepper, Missouri Highway Department, and for Coca-Cola as the service manager for 30 years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Sodality, Mary's Home Knights of Columbus Council 3267, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, helping with funeral luncheons at St. Peter Parish, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Kauffman, Jefferson City; two children, Amy (Ward) Dickmann, Raytown, MO; Doug (Gina) Kauffman, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, John Dickmann, Andrew Kauffman, Graham Kauffman, Olivia Kauffman; and a brother-in-law, Paul Hentges, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Henry, Bill, and Bernard Kauffman; and three sisters, Berniece Luecke, Anna Mae Hentges, and Virginia Bruning. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
