Johanna Anna Gemeinhardt

Johanna Anna Gemeinhardt, 98, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Adams Street Place. She was born March 28, 1917, in Loose Creek, Missouri, the daughter of the late Louis and Therisa (Backes) Haslag. She was united in marriage on September 2, 1936, in Loose Creek to Henry Gemeinhardt who preceded her in death on November 22, 2000. Johanna worked for over 28 years for St. Mary's Hospital as a nurses aide. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Johanna loved playing cards, fishing, traveling, and especially being with her family and friends. Survivors include three daughters, Thelma (Dan) Hendricks, Jefferson City; Shirley Wilbers, Jefferson City; Deby Morton, Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Nancy Richway; a great-grandson, Jeffrey Richway; a sister, Louise Peters; a brother, Ted Haslag; and a son-in-law, David Wilbers. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 East McCarty Street, Jefferson city, MO 65101; SSM Hospice, 2505 Mission Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
