James Edward Laux

James Edward Laux, 73, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1944, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Victor Henry and Celesta Josephine (Hentges) Laux. James was a 1962 graduate of Helias High School. He served his country in the 1035th Maintenance Company, Missouri Army National Guard for over twenty-five years. He was united in marriage on April 24, 1965, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City to Linda Lucille Otto, who preceded him in death on July 27, 2010. Retiring in June of 2010, James was the Front End Alignment Specialist for McKnight Tires for forty years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Mens Sodality; Knights of Columbus, Helias Council; American Legion; and the Boy Scouts of America-Great River Council. He was a Boy Scout Troup 4 leader, organizer of the Pinewood Derby event and cooked every summer at Camp Hohn. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed running the bingo games at the church. Survivors include a son, Daniel (Heather) Laux, Jefferson City; a daughter, Lesa (Chris) Wilson, Jefferson City; four brothers, Paul (Fran) Laux, Jefferson City; Johnny (Mary) Laux, Gerald; Joe Laux, Jefferson City; Vince Laux, Jefferson City; one sister, Mary (Duke) Dorge, Osage Beach; four grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Christopher Allen Wilson, Jr., Corey Wilson, Brittany Wilson; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Laux. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Pardee officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
