Judith Ann Hasenbeck, 68, of Jefferson City, left this world on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, from her residence, following a brief illness. Mo.; brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Hamacher, Jefferson City; in-laws, Mil and Joe Schulte, Larry and Ruth Hasenbeck, Elaine Healey, Jeanie Hasenbeck, Ted and Shirley Hasenbeck, and Bob and Carol Hasenbeck; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and large community of friends. Judy was born on Nov. 5, 1940, in Jefferson City; was a 1957 graduate of Helias High School; and attended Lincoln University. She lived for many years in Fredericktown, Mo., and her early working career included teaching school, school administrative secretary, bank teller, and office manager in a family practice doctors office. Prior to retiring she spent nearly twenty years as a social worker with the State of Missouri and as an investigative case worker with the Missouri Department of Family Services. She was a very well respected local authority and appraiser of antique jewelry and sold pieces from several antique booths throughout Mid-Missouri. She was a member of Missouri Federated Womans Club; Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; and the River City Collectors Club. She served on the Fredericktown R-1 School District Board and spent time as a board member of the Madison County Azalea Festival. Judy loved time spent with her granddaughter and family. She enjoyed auctions and collecting vintage jewelry. She was a passionate reader and passed her love of books to her children and granddaughter. She had a great appreciation of the arts. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
