JOSEPH HERMAN SCHROER

September 10, 1917 — July 4, 2005

Joseph Herman Schroer, 87, of St. Martins, MO, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 10, 1917 in St. Martins, the son of Bernard and Josephine Lackamp Schroer. He was married on June 5, 1941 in St. Martins to Loretta Mae Brondel who survives at the home. Mr. Schroer farmed in the St. Martins area all of his life. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church; and a former member of the National Farmers Organization. During retirement he enjoyed restoring antique horse-drawn wagons and raising horses and mules. But most especially he enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include eight sons and their wives, Bernard Schroer, Jefferson City; Joseph and Janet Schroer, St. Martins; William and Marilyn Schroer, Centertown; Frank Schroer, Monteagle, Tenn.; Steve and Linda Schroer, Jefferson City; Dan Schroer and Stacy Bockelman, High Point, MO; John and Kathy Schroer, Brazito; and Eugene and Ginger Schroer, Brazito; nine daughters and their husbands, Virginia Mosley, Brazito; Jane Schroer, Jefferson City; Barbara and George Carter, New Bloomfield; Katherine and Henry Wachholz, Columbia; Dorothy and Ronald Bandelier, Jefferson City; Patricia Rademan, Jefferson City; Ruth and George Lister, Jefferson City; Mary Beth and Anthony Ford, Brazito; and Suzanne and Terry Roush, Jefferson City; thirty-nine grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Utrecht, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sr. Joseph Bernard Schroer and Mary Brondel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6th, at St. Martin Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin School Future Expansion, 7148 St. Martins Avenue, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
