JOSEPH HENRY OLDELEHR

Joseph Henry Oldelehr, 82, of Westphalia, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at the Westphalia Retirement Center. He was born on May 4, 1925, in Westphalia, to Joseph and Bernadine Knuever Oldelehr. He was united in marriage on April 19, 1952, in Linn, MO to Marie Hueste who survives at the home. Mr. Oldelehr served as a medical corpsman with the United States Navy in World War II and with the Construction Battalion (See Bees) during the Korean Conflict. Joseph worked for Chesebrough Ponds as an inspector, PWSD #2 Westphalia as a treasurer, and Wilde and Castrop Plastering Co. Westphalia as a plasterer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693, and a life-time member of American Legion Roscoe Enlow Post 5 and later member with Westphalia Post 544. He coached Little League Baseball for the Westphalia Cubs, and enjoyed fishing, avid St. Louis Cardinals and MU sports fan, and especially spending time with his family. Other survivors include: two sons and their wives, Michael and Melita Oldelehr, Jefferson City; Gary and Mary Ann Oldelehr, Loose Creek; four grandchildren, Marcus and his wife Lindsey Oldelehr; Marisa Oldelehr; Maribeth Oldelehr; Sarah Oldelehr; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Oldelehr; two sisters, Josephine Forck, Red Oak, AZ; and Anne Hick, Ankeny, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Hilda ODell; Celie Kliethermes; Coletta Thiemann; and Marie Kliethermes. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Philip M. Kane officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic School Education Fund, 123 E.
