Joseph David Hilkemeyer, 50, of Westphalia, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1954 in Jefferson City, the son of Gilbert George and Emma Wilhelmina Lock Hilkemeyer who survive in Loose Creek. He was married on October 11, 1980 in Westphalia to Cynthia Katherine Stratman who died on August 6, 1995. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Phillip M. Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School, POB 116, Westphalia, MO 65085; or a charity of the donors choice. A 1972 graduate of Helias High School, and a graduate of Lincoln University, Mr. Hilkemeyer owned and operated Hilkemeyer & Company and later, Joes Market, both in Westphalia. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; Knights of Columbus Council 1171, Westphalia; and the Westphalia Lions Club. Other survivors include his fiance, Brenda Wilson, Jefferson City; his son, Nathan Hilkemeyer, and his daughter, Laura Hilkemeyer, both at home; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Hilkemeyer, Jefferson City; and three sisters, Lynn Behn and her husband, Robert, Gardena, California; and Paula Hilkemeyer and Becky Hilkemeyer, both of Kansas City, MO.
