JOSEPH ADOLPH VAUGHAN

Joseph Adolph Vaughan, 89, of Jefferson City, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on April 1, 1918, in Rich Fountain, MO, the son of John Henry and Lena Hassenbeck Vaughan. He was married on June 21, 1941, in Jefferson City, to Margaret Elizabeth Hentges who survives at the home. Mr. Vaughan was a gauger for Phillips Petroleum Company, retiring after thirty-nine years on April 1, 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; Roy Sone American Legion Post No. 5; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1003. Other survivors include two sons and their wives, Larry and Debbie Vaughan, Jefferson City and Richard and Linda Vaughan, Bryn Mawr, PA; one daughter, Marylyn Shiver, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ted Vaughan and Paul Vaughan; and four sisters, Jul Ray Lepper, Teresa Voss, Helen Scheulen, and Marie Scheulen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at St. Peters Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18th , at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peters School Building Fund, 314 W. High St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; Helias High School, 1305 Swifts Hwy., Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to a Charity of the Donors Choice.
