JORETTA LETHA SMITH

Joretta Letha Smith, 74, formerly of Jefferson City, died Friday, November 25, 2005, at St. Anthony Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born on Aug. 14, 1931 in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Oma Richard and Millie Letha Phillips Cox. She was married on March 21, 1948 in Sedalia, MO, to Claude Eugene Smith who died on Oct. 10, 1981. She was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO. A homemaker, Mrs. Smith was employed as a sales clerk for Dillards for ten years. She attended Capital City Christian Church. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Steven R. and Sharon Smith, David L. and Jeanne Smith, and Mark T. and Rita Smith all of Jefferson City; and Dennis L Smith, St. Louis; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. and Bill Frese, St. Louis; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Garry and Ardyth Cox, Bolivar, MO. She was preceded in death by one son Michael E. Smith; and one granddaughter, Patricia Smith. Private family services will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO. Public visitation will be 4-5 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Jefferson City. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice.
