JOHN WAYNE LYNCH, SR.

July 16, 1950 — November 28, 2011

John Wayne Lynch, Sr., 61, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
He was born on July 16, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Thomas Sterling and Mildred Mae Mahan Lynch.
He was married on Feb. 5, 1972, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Rita Ann Wieberg who survives at the home.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where he was awarded two Bronze Stars, Mr. Lynch was employed for over thirty years as an over-the-road truck driver.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Breakfast Lions Club; Freedom of the Road Riders; Legion Riders; and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003.
John especially loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and western wear.
Other survivors include three children, Theresa (Michael) Waldrop, California, Mo.; John W. Lynch, Jr., Jefferson City; and Staff Sgt. Larry Lynch currently serving with the Army National Guard in Afghanistan; three grandchildren, Derrek, Jenna, and Brookelynn Waldrop; two brothers, Tom (Patty) Lynch, State of California; and Adam Lynch, Jefferson City; and four sisters, Martha Sapp, Mountain Grove, Mo.; Mary Jean (Tom) Cline, Pontiac, Mo.; Mildred Archer, Jefferson City; and Betty June Lynch, State of Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Basil Eruo, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2nd, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
