JOE LEE ISIDORE HERIGON

Joe Lee Isidore Herigon, 64, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born on May 3, 1946, in Morrison, Mo., the son of the late Joseph B. and Rose C. Groner Herigon. Joe graduated from Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Elementary School, Chamois, Mo.; was a 1964 graduate of Osage R-1 High School, Chamois, Mo.; and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University in 1975. Joe served in the United States Army from November 1965 to October 1968. He was stationed at Heilbronn, Germany as a Communications Center Specialist. He was a Specialist 4th Class.
He was united in marriage on March 23, 1974, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, to Lorene Pauline Backes who resides at the home. At the time of Joes death, he worked as an Office Support Assistant for Workforce Development with the State of Missouri. Joe also worked for Schultes Fresh Foods for 35 years, Stieferman Heating and Cooling for 10 years, and Von Hoffman Press for three years. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church where he was a communion minister, lector, Director of Worship, and choir member. He assisted with confirmation classes, and as a sponsor with the RCIA Program. He served on the Vocation Committee, Worship and Spiritual Life Committee, St. Martin Catholic Education Foundation, and St. Martin Bus Committee. He was a member of the St. Martins Knights of Columbus Council 7194 and was a Fourth Degree Knight with St. Judes General Assembly 1567. He was a Cursillo team participant.
Other survivors include: four children, Craig Herigon and his wife Jessica Ronco, San Francisco, CA; Leanne and her husband Bradley Campbell, Columbia, Mo; Julie and her husband Nicholas Jenkins, Rosebud, Mo; Christa Herigon and her Fianc Brent Cain, Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Caitlin Campbell; and five siblings, Shirley and her husband Clarence Stieferman, Jefferson City; JoAnn Herigon, Jefferson City; Marilyn Dierking, Independence; Marvin and his wife Marilyn Herigon, Taos; and Jerry and his wife Cathy Herigon, Leawood, KS.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon Monday, August 30, 2010, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested for Masses; St. Martin Catholic Education Foundation; or St. Martin School Expansion Fund.
