James LeRoy Armstrong, Jr., 75, of Jefferson City, MO, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center, Jefferson City. He was born on Oct. 3, 1929 in Stoneboro, PA, the son of James LeRoy, Sr. and Rosella Madeline Lengauer Armstrong. He was married on July 10, 1953 in Franklin, PA to Shirley Faye Harlan who survives at the home. A graduate of Stoneboro High School, Mr. Armstrong served in the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps. He was an industrial engineer with Westinghouse Electric Corporation for forty-one years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club and Railwood Golf Course. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and enjoyed hunting. Other survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, James S. Armstrong, Holts Summit; and John M. Jack and Jule Armstrong, Los Angeles, CA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen S. and Donald Hoelscher, Jefferson City; and Laurie J. Morris, New Bloomfield; and five grandchildren, Joshua Hoelscher; Jennifer Hoelscher; Christin Armstrong; Katlyn Morris; and Macey Morris. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Henderson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark A. Dumas officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109 (893-5251).
