James Allen Cole, 64, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at his residence. He was born on May 1, 1942 in Osage, IA, the son of Robert James and Mary Gertrude Casey Cole. His father survives in Waterloo, IA. He was married on Nov. 4, 1967 in Waterloo, IA, to Patti Jean Stocker who survives at the home. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbus High School in Waterloo. Mr. Cole was employed with Titus Manufacturing Co, Waterloo, from 1964 to 1966; H&H Machine Tool & Die, Cedar Falls, IA, from 1966 to 1969; Iowa Industrial Products, Cedar Falls, from 1969-1971; Machine Tool & Dye Co., Cedar Falls, from 171 to 1973; John Deere Inc., Waterloo, from 1973 to 1984; Cessna Aircraft Co., Wichita, KS, from 1985 to 1987; and Johnson Controls, Inc., Jefferson City, from 1987 to the present where he served as Corporate Engineering Manager. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1964. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus; Fraternal Order of Eagles; AMVETS; and Ducks Unlimited. He especially enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, and his loving and devoted family and friends. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, LeAnn and Steven Dieffenbach, Columbia, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Nikki Cole, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Alex, Jenna, and Wesley Dieffenbach; Grace Cole; and Chelsea and Tanner Steele; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Janet Leach, Kalamazoo, MI; and Karen and Ron Buchan, Waterloo, IA; nine nieces; nine nephews; and the Stocker family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Missouri River Hospice, 1410 Heriford Road, Columbia, MO 65202; or American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
