Irene Margaret McAnaugh

Irene Margaret McAnaugh, 80, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at The Timbers in Holts Summit. She was born on April 17, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late John Patrick Lyons and Marie Geraldine Kelly Lyons. She was married on August 11, 1967, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Douglas Russell McAnaugh who preceded her in death on March 26, 2010. A 1955 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, Illinois, she received her Registered Nursing degree from Presbyterian-Saint Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. Mrs. McAnaugh was a Registered Nurse in Illinois and Arizona for over twenty years. During the Vietnam Era she was a civilian nurse at Kadena Air Force Base Hospital on Okinawa. A member of the Roman Catholic faith, she was an avid cross-stitcher and greatly enjoyed reading, bowling, and friendship with her cat, Stonewall. Survivors include one daughter, Nancie (Stephen Hick) McAnaugh, Jefferson City; one son, Mark (Debra) McAnaugh, Bailey, Colorado; three grandchildren, Vincent, Nathan, and Ashley McAnaugh; and one sister, Marilyn (Donald) Jones, Melbourne, Florida. She was preceded in death by one son, John Donald McAnaugh. Private family services will be held at a later date.
