Irene Komaromi

Fortified by the sacrament of Holy Mother Church, Irene Komaromi, 96, of Jefferson City, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was born in Szkesfehrvr, Hungary, on July 31, 1921. She married Imre Komaromi on March 9, 1945, in Hungary. After living in Austria for six years, she and her family came to the United States on June 15, 1951. She was employed by Memorial Hospital for fifteen years. As an only child, she was delighted with and proud of her large family of five children: Imre, Leslie Komaromi (Linda), Elizabeth Simons (Richard), Margaret Gooch (Bill), and Stephen Komaromi (Susie). She was very proud of her fourteen grandchildren: Ann Komaromi (Leo Livak), Lora Simons Murphy (Adam), Amy Gooch Pierce (Tony), Daniel Simons (Erica), Katherine Gooch, Jolie Simons (Shaun Magruder), John Komaromi (Nicole), Anna Komaromi, Ellen Komaromi, Elizabeth Komaromi, Grace Komaromi, Lea Komaromi, and Gregory Komaromi. In addition, she is survived by eleven great grandchildren: Hailee Komaromi and Lilly Komaromi, Josephine and Isabella Lucy Livak, Imre Jack Pierce, Vincent Pierce, and Grant Pierce, Rowan Murphy, and Maggie Simons, and Rex and Charley Simons. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday, at St. Peter Catholic Church with a rosary recited at 8:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Pardee celebrating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the Catholic Relief Services.
