Herbert John Kraus

He was born in St. Thomas, MO to John Sebastian Kraus and Katherine Lueckenotte Kraus. He was married on June 19, 1948 in Jefferson City to Caroline Anna "Booty" Brauner who survives at the home. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Mergen, Jefferson City; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Colleen Kraus and Timothy and Kim Kraus, all of Jefferson City; and four grandchildren. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Holy Name Society; American Legion Post No. 5; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, workworking, and gardening. Memorials are suggested to Boone Hospital Home Care Hospice, 3315 Berrywood Drive, Columbia, MO 65201; St. Peter Church Capital Improvement Fund, 216 Broadway, Jefferson City, 65101; or a charity of the donor's choice. Mr. Kraus was a U.S. verteran of World War II. He was employed in carpentry and construction work for several companies through the years until retiring in 1982.
