Helen Lillie Carver

Helen Lillie Carver, 95, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 18, 1920, in Russellville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Marion O. and Emma (Gemeinhardt) Huff. She was united in marriage on February 6, 1937, in Jefferson City to Harold Alvin Carver who preceded her in death on January 26, 1998. Helen worked for International Shoe Factory, Tweedie Shoe Factory, and later retired from Gerbes East End. Following retirement she worked for J.C. Penney. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, Extension Club, and St. Mary's Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, sewing, decorating, and caring for all her family. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn (Marvin) Sommer, Eudora, KS; twelve grandchildren, Diane Carlson, Steve Sommer, Stan Sommer, Doug Sommer, Shari Sommer, Debbie Hileman, Tim Iven, Terri Iven, Dean Iven, Robin Iven, Roger Iven, Danny Iven; 29 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Judy (Robert) Iven; three sisters, Mable Shikles, Leona Knernschield, Viola Bainer; and a brother, Alvin Huff. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev.
