Hazel Lee Allen

Hazel Lee Allen 91, of St. Louis, formerly of California, Mo, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at her residence in St. Louis. She was born on July 9, 1922, in Centertown, Missouri, the daughter of the late Walter Earl and Viola Ruth (Dalstein) Osick. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1946, in California, Missouri to Clifford Thurman "Tim" Allen who preceded her in death on February 1, 1958. Mrs. Allen worked as a Q-tip operator for Chesebrough Ponds until retiring May 1, 1986. She was a member of Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis. She loved to sew and quilt. She made numerous quilts for the Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Allen also did volunteer work and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: two daughters, Ruth (Bruce) Schenk, St. Louis; Janet Schnieders, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Timothy (Melissa) Schnieders; Jamie Schnieders; and three great-grandchildren, Annastasia Schnieders; Kali Schnieders; and Madeline Schnieders. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; a grandson, Roger Schnieders; and a sister, Margaret Kropp. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Behrns officiating. Burial will be in McGirk Cemetery in McGirk, Missouri Visitation will be 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
