Harry R. Jansen, 82, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Adams Street Place. He was born July 23, 1934, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Alphonse G. and Mary Magdalena "Lena" (Wingrath) Jansen. He was a 1952 graduate of St. Peter High School and was a 1956 graduate of Central Missouri State University. He was united in marriage on April 27, 1974 in Arlington, Virginia to Marcella Czarnecki who preceded him in death on August 8, 2008. Upon graduation from college, Harry began his career as an auditor for the Federal Highway Administration. Through various promotions and reassignments Harry worked in locations from Juneau, Alaska to Washington DC. Along the way he made many friends, some were as close as family to him. He retired in December 1989. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the world. They visited all the national parks, more than 46 countries, including every continent with the exception of Antarctica. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Mark (Cathy) Czarnecki, Hermon, Maine; sister-in-law, Lois Czarnecki, Clearwater, Florida; sister-in-law, Irma Jansen, Jefferson City; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Carl Jansen. Visitation will be 1:30-3:15 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Committal prayers and burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Resurrection Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Antweiler officiating.
