Harry Francis Bemboom

Harry Francis Bemboom, 87, of Jefferson City, died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Heisinger Bluffs. He was born on March 2, 1926, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Gerhard Henry and Adeline (Toebben) Bemboom. Mr. Bemboom served in the Unites States Navy during World War II from May of 1944 till May of 1946. He was united in marriage on June 26, 1946, in Rich Fountain, to Hilda Bock who preceded him in death on June 12, 2013. Mr. Bemboom worked for the Missouri Highway Department. He then joined Jefferson Asphalt working from 1968 till his retirement in March of 1988. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Jefferson City CB Club. Harry enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife Hilda. He also enjoyed listening to music, dancing and woodworking. Survivors include: seven children, Larry (Melba) Bemboom, Eldon; Shirley (Gary) Hutinger, Loose Creek; David (Mary) Bemboom, Columbia; Mary Ellen (Donald) Benne, Centertown; Harry Bemboom (Janet), Jefferson City; Andy (Rebecca) Bemboom , Springfield, Mo; Kathy (John) Schroer, Brazito; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and one sister, Loretta Siebeneck, Wardsville. He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Bernadine Warner, Louise Burnett, Agnes Newman, Freida Sosnowski; and three brothers, Andrew, Ed, and Paul Bemboom. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Alex Gabriel, officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 2:30-5 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Church Building Fund, 216 Broadway Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to Masses.
