Harold Henry Vieth

November 22, 1924 — July 31, 2003

He was born in Case, Missouri to Henry Ernst and Naemi Lieneke Vieth. He was married to Ethelyn Bascom May 10, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri who survives at the home. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Norry Shahangian; Jefferson City; three grandchildren,, Jason Shahangian, Tara Shanhangian, and Beth Vieth Oetting and her husband, Mark Oetting, all of Jefferson City; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Louis Oetting, Ana Shahangian and Olivia Shahangian, all of Jefferson City; and one brother, Paul Vieth, Hermann, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Louis Lee Vieth; and two brothers, Leroy Veith and Vester Vieth. He was a member of hte Central United Church of Christ; American Legion Post No. 5; Roy Sone Veterans of Foregin Wars Post No. 1003; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2693. Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Children's Home, 8240 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Louis, MO 63114 or the Missouri River Hospice, 1440 Aaron Court, Jefferson City, MO 65101. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Rhineland, Central Europe, and Ardennes. He received a Bronze Star at the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed with Butternut Bread thirty years until his retirement in 1981.
