Harold Francis Groner

Harold Francis Groner, 74, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 18, 1934, in St. Thomas, MO, the son of Benedict and Caroline Wieberg Groner. He was united in marriage on October 4, 1958, in Jefferson City to Laura Mae Bauer who survives at the home. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 4, 2008. Harold was a United State Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Harold was a foreman with Delongs Inc. from 1960-2002. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Holy Name Sodality, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 3490. Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Pam Groner, Randy and Rachel Groner, all of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Caleb Groner; Brian Groner; Cassandra Groner; Brittney Badding; Ryan Badding; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Irene Boessen; Viola Boessen; Jane and Tim Bax, all of St. Thomas; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Jean Herigon; and Darrell and Myra Herigon, all of St. Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Ellen Herigon; and a brother, Leonard Herigon. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Benjamin Nwosu officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109; or Dystonia at Barnes Hospital, One Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63110.
