HERBERT LOUIS RODEMAN

August 6, 1916 — April 22, 2011

Herbert Louis Rodeman, 94, of Wardsville, died on Good Friday, April 22, 2011, at St. Joseph Bluffs with his family surrounding him throughout the day.
He was born on August 6, 1916, in Jefferson City, the son of the late August and Annie T. Hoelscher Rodeman.
He was a United States Army Air Force veteran who served during World War II in Panama Canal with the Military Police.
He was united in marriage on May 4, 1942, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, to Eleanore C. Buschjost who resides at the home.
Herbert was employed with the Oidtman Grocery Store, A & P Tea Company and with Schultes IGA Store as a meatcutter.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus St. Judes Assembly #1567, Third Degree Knights of Columbus Wardsville/Osage Bend Council, Holy Name Society, Golden Eagle with the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003, charter member of the World War II Memorial, and Amalgamated Meatcutters Union. He was an original member of the Board of Directors for Blair Oaks Schools and a charter officer of St. Stanislaus P.T.A.
He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and his devotion to the Rosary. He was especially proud of the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone looked to him for advise and his humorous wit. Herbert took great pride in being the oldest resident of Wardsville.
Other survivors include: three children, Ruth Ann (Roger) Braun, Wardsville; Ron Rodeman, Jefferson City; Phyllis (Alan) LeCuru, Wardsville; eight grandchildren, Michele Burrows, Russell Braun, Melissa Hodge, Melanie Braun, Meghan Welty, Nathan Rodeman, Kim LeCuru, Ashley LeCuru; and four great-grandchildren, Hollie Burrows, Joshua Burrows, Reaghan Cook, and Riglee Welty.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rosie Rodeman; and three brothers, Joseph, Edmond, and Edgar Rodeman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:30-8 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
